As a bass who fancies himself singing baritone, I now realize I pushed a lot, but there are MANY barbershop singers who practice very healthy singing. Barbershop singing is not reliant on unhealthy singing, it's just mostly reliant on straight-tone singing which can be done healthily (for examples, please see Brandon Guyton, Tim Waurick, Chris Hallam, Cory Hunt, etc. as examples of very healthy singers)
